Thennamravadi Massacre – 03.12.1984.

Thannamaravadi Village Chief Officer (Vidanaiyar) Mr. S. Vairamuthu. He had written a letter in Chatter Revue published on August 24, 1985. On the third day of December 1984, a group of armed quails entered the village of South Maravat and killed fifteen people, including women, and chased away the hundred and twenty-five families there.

Meanwhile, he mentioned that this happened in the nearby Amaravayal village. Both these villages were in the northern part of Tirumala district. They were registered as Tamil villages during the British settlement in 1824. People were evicted from here in 1984.
