"Tamil Sea Tigers"

  READ NOW

As far as Tamil Eelam is concerned, this is very, very important.

In our homeland, the sea is connected to the land.
The land of Tamil Nadu is warmed on three sides by our sea.
Our traditional habitat, Niyapakudi, alone, is not the homeland of Tamil Eelam, as many think.
This sea and land combined with pride, antiquity and richness is our homeland of Tamil Eelam.
This is our sea

It is intertwined with the social and economic life of our ancestors for thousands of years.
The barges of our ancestors, merchant ships and warships crawled in the lap of this sea.
The Tamil Nadu Sea is gaining importance economically, politically and for external world trade relations.
But more importantly, the sea is paramount to the security of Tamil Nadu.
Only those who are in control of this sea can enjoy the economic and political benefits that come with it.

So our sea is intertwined with the security of our nation.
Trincomalee, one of the best natural harbors in Asia, is one of the highlights of our seas. Apart from this, our sea has many important ports and economic centers.
Our sea has played a vital role in determining the security, economy and politics of the country in the post-liberation period, both in the early stages of the armed struggle for the recovery of Tamil Eelam and in the present context in which it is growing exponentially.

Thus our own sea, which possesses many characteristics that are important in many dimensions - If we are to liberate ourselves from Sri Lankan domination, we must shine stronger than the enemy in the Tamil Nadu seas. Our “National Leader, His Excellency Way, who understood this reality that day. Prabhakaran ”They had prepared the plans for it many years ago and gradually gave it a practical shape.
When it comes to the struggle to reclaim our homeland from the Sinhala chauvinist state, it stands for the liberation of the land and sea borders of the Tamil homeland.

Therefore, it is necessary for Tamil Eelam to build a navy of its own like our ground force which is a part of the homeland of Tamil Eelam with tremendous growth on the ground.

If we look closely at the freedom uprising of our people, we can see the extent to which it is intertwined with the sea after it has evolved into a revolutionary armed struggle.

Tamil Nadu has only Sri Lanka as its border in the ground series. In other directions our borders are at sea. In every developmental stage that our armed struggle has gone through, the Tamil Nadu Sea has played a huge role.
It was in this context that in 1984, the national leader, Hon. Prabhakaran gave its historic birth to the LTTE's Sea Tigers, initially naming it the "Sea Tigers".
Initially, the Sea Tigers were trained in marine knowledge and trained in piracy.
But the Tigers escaped the onslaught of the enemy.

This was the first major attack on the Sri Lankan Navy in this regard by the Sea Tigers on 10.07.1990 in the Valvai Sea.

Major Kantaroopan, Captain Collins and Captain Vinod, who sailed with a boat loaded with ammunition, decked a warship of the Sri Lankan Navy and created this feat.

Similarly, on 04.05.1991, a command ship was wrecked by sea urchins. It is noteworthy that this is also a cane operation. In this, Captain Chidambaram and Captain Jayanthan took Veeracha all over.
The two black tiger operations had alarmed the Sinhala navy, which was roaming freely in Tamil Nadu waters. And the maritime monopoly of the Sinhala navy in the Tamil Nadu seas was shattered.

We, the Tamil people, need to understand a reality. As the struggle for the liberation of Tamil Eelam progresses to the point of liberating the lands, we see the Government of Sri Lanka using its manpower by sea to try to impede our progress. That is, the enemy is using the sea to defeat the ground.
When the British launched Operation Liberation to capture North Marathwada in 1987, when we tried to conquer the Mullaitivu camp in 1990, when we tried to capture the Chilaw camp in 1991, and when the 1991 Elephant War was still in its infancy. . The Government of Sri Lanka exercised its power by sea and stood in the way of our efforts.
The main reason for this is the sea monopoly that the enemy had in our sea.
National Leader His Excellency Way. Prabhakaran would often say:

“Geographically, the security of Tamil Nadu is united with the sea. Therefore, only when we become strong in the sea and break the enemy's maritime dominance in our seas and gain strength in our seas, will we be able to permanently maintain the liberated territory and repel the existing enemy footsteps in the mainland of Tamil Nadu. “
If we want to build a navy, we have to be prepared to face a lot of material costs. The value of weapons used in ground combat is far greater than the value of equipment used in pirates. So building a navy also requires economic strength.
As far as Tamil Eelam is concerned, the sea is the main route for external contacts, supplies for the struggle and related activities.

We cannot use our land border (with Sri Lanka) for this.
So transportation, supplies, and global connections are all by sea.
That is why it is so essential to destroy the enemy's maritime dominance and prevent his movement in the sea. Only then can our homeland war be won.

Our Marine Corps, which has been known as the Sea Tigers since 1984, was greatly expanded in late 1991 with the new name, "Tigers of the Liberation Tigers".
During this period, Soosai was appointed as the Special Commander and Gangai Amaran as the Commander-in-Chief.
It was during this period that the Tigers carried out several successful attacks on the Sri Lankan navy at sea and on the coast guards.

During the ensuing attacks, some of the heavy-duty keyboards were struck and destroyed at various points.
The 41-foot-long high-speed fighting boat was sunk by sea tigers in the Elephant Pass. In addition, the Tigers have been involved in successful boat markets with the Sinhala Navy in the Mediterranean.
Significant Sinhala sailors were killed and their weapons seized during these naval raids and naval battles.

The development of the LTTE's Marine Tigers team to the point where they have been able to launch direct attacks and naval battles against the modernized Sinhala navy, from carrying out piracy attacks, has stifled the Sri Lankan military leadership. Because of this, the long-term war plan they devised to suppress the struggle by relying on the strength of the navy has also been called into question.

Also, in recent times, the dominance of the Sri Lankan Navy in the Tamil Nadu seas has been steadily declining. Therefore, the Sinhala ruling class would have begun to realize that its war of aggression on Tamil Eelam was facing a major setback.

She has an immense epic within her that is shaped by the sacrifice and tragedy of the Tamil Nadu Sea.
How many happy comrades…
how many talented sailors.
Swimmers like fish ..
Sea urchins are a high form of sacrifice!

Knowing that death was coming, they went on a journey. Each time they traveled, we stood on the shore and dropped off. But as we watched, many of those who had melted into that vast ocean.
Lying day and night in the lap of the Tamil Eelam seafarer, many of the sons of the mother of the seafaring Tamil Eelam, who did not care for work, cold and life, were acquainted with that salt water.

This is our sea; It is an integral part of the Tamil Nadu homeland. It must be redeemed from the domination of strangers. That is why the sea tigers are lying on the journey of life, understanding the classic sacrifices and creating heroic epics.
One day, of course, our naval vessels will be floating in our seas; Then our younger generation will roam our seas of freedom without fear.
